Anyone else remember this guy? Kind of brash and annoying.

Who else have they forgotten during this week of celebration?

I remember that name. Looks like he went to WIP for a bit then disappeared. I am trying to remember if he did anything memorable while on WFAN or what if any schtick he had? Got nothing.

Was it heroin? I do remember reading that he had a substance abuse problem. I might have read it when he was at WFAN.

I don't remember him being there very long though. Sorta like Art Rust JR. I remember Rust doing some shows, for WFAN, but not for very long.

I first heard Fredricks, on WCAU in Philadelphia, in the early to mid 80s. Bob Gelb was his producer. It's also where I first heard of Gelb.

I don't recall whether Gelb was there when the Fan started, but he was Pete Franklin's, and later Russo and Francesa's, producer.

He may have been there from the start. The first maybe 3-6 months of WFAN's afternoon drivetime was occupied by guest hosts. I think Franklin had medical problems that kept him from starting along with the station. Maybe a heart attack?

My recollection was that Fredriks was opinionated but knowledgeable. And, unlike Francesa and Russo, he knew hockey.

Again, opinionated, but I don't remember an arrogance level anywhere near Francesa's.
Then again, I suppose one would be hard pressed to find arrogance on the Francesa level.

Richard Neer this morning said that he had been doing Sat. mornings for 19 1/2 years with a 3 month interruption by Fredricks. He didn't say when though.
