I've undergone (and continue to undergo) major dental and oral surgeries over the last three years and have not had any changes in my voice, regardless of the procedure(s) endured or medications taken. Pain killers, antibiotics, anti-inflams, steroids, you name it -- I've been on them all with no vocal changes. The only changes I've noticed are the way I speak when pain sets in... but the voice remains constant.

Mike suggested the Mets should offer Dickey a new contract for $7 million/yr for 4 years and he would jump at that for financial security. Dickey is pitching like the best pitcher in baseball right now. There is no way he would take that little. Jonathan Niese has a bigger contract than that and he has done nothing.

mike is a fool.he thinks dickey was headed for the poor house and had no job for yrs.maybe he will move into the normal 3500 square foot home like the rest of the world.just checked out dickeys pay.not counting this yr he made about 5-7 million since he came up and thats not counting minor league pay.....just a side thought, i actually like when a guy gets interviewed after the game and the stadium can here it,wonder why mike never said he invented that?

And on queue Mario Chalmers plays like an all star, it doesn't help that Durant plays some of the worst defense of any superstar, lollygagging in no man's land, giving Chalmers and not Floyd Norris, Norris Coles wide open three pointers. OKC is very undisciplined on defense.

Does anyone listen to the postgame press conferences? Some of the most idiotic questions, first off most of the so called questions are reporter's comments, asking a player or a coach to comment on their comment. Is this what they teach at sports J-school? Coach can you talk about how great Mario Chalmers played. Can anyone ask a real question like, hey Scott Brooks when are you going to use a zone defense?

But the best has to be ESPN, they actually cut the press conferences off before they are finished, we listen to Magic Johnson and Steven A. Smith change their minds hourly and it is not enough, we can't hear the entire coaches press conference. Now Steven A. Smith apologizes to Westbrook after proclaiming his Game 2 was one of the worst all time in the playoffs for a point guard, now Magic Johnson says that Westbrook has to shoot the ball more because he's really a 2 not a 1.

Hardin looks like he is stoned, mind boggling bad passes, misses point blank layups, he should have been benched in the fourth quarter.

And then how about OKC recognize situational defense, like the shot clock is running out, get in the face of a 3 point shooter because he doesn't have enough time to drive to the basket. And it happened again, this time a cramped up Lebron, shot clock running down, and Sefolosha gives him the three pointer.

Durant can't pass, can't play defense, doesn't rebound, makes you appreciate the all around player Michael Jordan was.

That said, it wouldn't shock to see OKC become the first team to win down 3-1 in the Finals. I mean Hardin has to wake up at some point. Chalmers will come back down to earth. Just win game 5 and then you have two home games and who knows.

Also I'm pretty sure the other day Mike contradicted himself within five minutes. He said that if you want to complain about the refs you look for a large discrepancy in free throws, he reads off the stats, a large free throw advantage for Miami, then he says, just like I told you OKC has to drive to the basket more if they want more free throws. I'm pretty sure Mike is not charting how many times OKC drives to the basket, it looked like Westbrook was driving on 70 percent of his shots and he took like 3 free throws.

I am sorry if this is a little too much, but ...

I CANNOT BELIEVE what an arrogant, smug, cocksucking ******* this guy is. He threw his producers under the bus on the air for a mistake he CLEARLY made. Unbelievable.

Does this idiot even have the capacity to say "I was wrong" or "it was my mistake" ??????

It's just unbelievable this fat bastard gets away with it.

In all fairness, I do respect him for interviews such as this:

If he would only just admit when he's wrong, I'd listen to him a lot more. The arrogance drives me crazy.

Mike said about today's Yankee/Braves game that the Braves really want to punish Phil Hughes. He made it sound like they were piling on, as if any lead is safe against the Yankees.

Default Big changes coming to WFAN

Mike announced that CBS Sports Radio is creating a network which will provide programming to stations across the country including WFAN. This probably means more network content will run on WFAN and I am guessing WFAN might become more like ESPN radio.

The NBA finals are played so late that the newspapers don't have the final score or game story. I know it is online but I'd rather read it in the paper. No reason they can't start the games earlier.

OKC has to be one of the dumbest teams I have seen since the Trailblazers that lost to Jordan. Scary talent, mediocre coaching, mediocre basketball IQ.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to contest three point shots. Whether it was Battier early in the series, Chalmers towards the middle part or the white guy whose name escapes me, wide open three point shots while Durant or another OKC player caught covering air.

One thing is certain, Knicks are not beating this Heat team.

I agree, why start a game played on the East Coast at 9:00 PM? Then after you go through introductions, National Anthem, useless court side, pre-game interivews, game probably doesn't start until 9:15 PM.

Mike Miller

For all the Knick fans who were saying last year Bosh was overrated, right now, would they still want Stoudamire over Bosh? Bosh isn't as good as Lebron and Wade, but when he came back from his injury, the Heat took their game up a level.

Baseball is almost as bad with the games starting times but usually they meet newspaper deadlines. The NBA has their championship game and the next day's newspapers run a generic story about LeBron. Bad marketing.

Default Steve Somers' voice

I made a short youtube comparing Steve Somers' voice from a few years ago to today. Weird how it is so much higher now.

This is the poll for best caller as part of the 25th anniversary. The winner joins Mike in studio. I voted for Ralph in Manhattan because I want to see what he looks like.
