"Newsday is not going to go out of business" 6/1/09

How he can be so confident of this considering the state of print newspapers today.... I was going to say I'll never know, but I do know.... Mike being Mike.

Default US Open Thursday Rain out Ticket Issue

Mike is putting himself out there on this..Kudos for him. If he cannot muster up enough support and pressure to change the officials' minds on allowing ticketholders from yesterday to come today, he is going to look pretty bad.

I hope he is still powerful enough to do it. I think he's great and this is my first post.

Talking to Jon "Scoops" Heyman on Tuesday, Mike said the Yankees "were going to destroy the Nationals, they scored 15 runs in Sundays game". Not quite. Yankees lost 2 out of 3, scoring a grand total of 7 runs (5, 2 and 0). Maybe at St John's what you do in your last game carries over to the next, but this is the bigs. Maybe the Yankees can build a smaller park to get more scoring.

Mike told former Islander pr man Chris Botta several months ago that his sources were saying John Tavares did not want to play for the Islanders. Botta said he would be interested in knowing who was Mike's source because his were saying Tavares would not pull a Lindros or Elway. Tavares signed a three year entry contract with the Islanders today.

Since Mike schooled us on the greatness of Rick Porcello(he was the only one who even heard of him): Five runs in the first two innings made a losing pitcher of Rick Porcello (9-7), who lasted 5 1/3 innings. Only once in his last nine starts has he pitched more than 5 2/3 innings.

As Smoltz takes the mound today for the Cardinals, lets not forget Mike's prediction last week that Smoltz "is done" and "will be released after his first start."

Default unhappy central new yorker

My name is Jeff Guzalak and I live in central ny, specifically in auburn ny. I am very disappointed and frustrated over todays show March 1st 2010. I am a huge Mets fan and was so excited today when i turned on YES and saw that the show was live from Port St. Lucie. I was even more excited when i heard Mike say they would be giving away mets tickets today and that if you wanted to win you had to watch every minute of the show. I have Mondays off and watch each week on YES because it is nearly impossible to get good enough reception to hear things clearly on the radio all the way up here in Auburn, ny. I am frustrated that the 5 mets moments that mike was referring to that we had to list are not being broadcast on TV. Im watching every min of the show and feel it is completely unfair and wrong that only radio listeners will have an opportunity to win the tickets. it just makes no sense....im a regular watcher of the show and feel betrayed that i dont even have a 1 percent chance of winning the tickets. its a joke.. thank you for taking what started as a very exciting day for me and turning it into a depressing one. I would have cherished and truly appreciated the mets tickets if i were able to win them and would not even be disappointed if i didnt, as long as i had a chance,i feel cheated. i hope that in the future you dont continue to penalize listeners who only can view the show on tv via the YES network....its a shame. i just wanted to speak my peace...hope u consider this in the future

Sincerely

Jeff Guzalak

Mike's Final 4: Ohio St., Syracuse, Kentucky, Villanova. Total teams participating: 0.00. Next year, try actually watching a game before March and maybe you'll get 1 right. LOL. Now back to the Joba belongs back in the pen portion of our broadcast.

Mike will surely have excuses as to why each team didn't make the final 4.
