Today's New York Daily News.. Lupica's column : "We have this poll in the paper today and 94% of the people polled - some of the biggest numbers we've ever had on something on this - want Don Imus back on the radio and the whole sort of thing begs a fascianating question:

That big conversation about race everybody said we were going to have as soon as Imus got fired - what happened to it??"

With that said, wonder why WFAN never made an attempt to get a "minority" voice on the air ???? CBS and Chernoff could have done something positive by attempting to improve race relations through a constructive dialouge, instead we were stuck with Boomer, Francesa, Russo, Monica Crowley, Jim "Mad Money" Cramer, Lou Dobbs, David Gregory, and Geraldo, among others.

Also had to laugh on some of those commenting about Imus in the daily News today. Some say Imus apologized and thus should be given absolution. The one convenient fact that they fail to remember is that Imus DID NOT apologize initially. He told everyone to get over it, that he was only kidding. It was only AFTER the pressure was turned up that he issued his "sincere" apology to the Rutgers women's basketball team for his intentionally crude remarks.

Obvious Francesa and Lupica are on a crusade to have Imus rehired. No mention how many voted in the poll. Can you say "stuffed ballot box worthy of a Chicago election??" Sounds as if the proverbial fix is in !

Also, the most RACIST show in NY sports is Steven A Smith. I was flipping through the dial a couple of weeks ago and heard he was having some sort of "white man quiz". It reinforced hurtful stereotypes about caucasian-americans.

Where was the phoney Lupica calling and writing to have Imus re-hired right after he was fired?

I love any person who uses polls as a reason anything should be done. Did anyone on this board vote on this poll? How were the questions asked?

Lupica is one of the biggest jerks I have ever met, after 2 minutes of his conversation I wanted to smack him even though he isn't even 5'6" tall.

As Mike would say, There are different set of rules for minorities compared with the majority (see Charles Barkley, or the late Reggie White, for example).

I am surprised that Steve Steve the Screeaming Machine is still on the air. The man would be gonged after 2 seconds on the gong show if it was still on the air.

And that white man quiz was thought up by a white man, Mike Missanelli. How is Smith's show racist because of that? Look I think Smith is terrible but not because of some stupid quiz.

How many times a day does he scream about how he is a BLACK MAN and thus sees the world differently. He seems very very focused on race and it disappoints me that Dr. King's vision of a colorblind world cannot come to pass with individuals like this participating in the public discourse.
