Oh. So I resorted to one of my long-winded explanations for nothing then.

It is amazing how consistent Dog is in his mispronunciations.

Dog was pumped up about the Giants after the Yankees series, now that the Padres are about to beat them again he is flipping out

Gotta love a long summer for the doggie

Default Cain

I'm a huge Yankees fan and love Pettitte but watching Cain makes me think of MIke ridiculing Dog last week about Cain saying that he has pitched just well enough to lose, showing how truly dumb Mike can be. He has never said that stuff about Pettitte but when you look, Cain has pitched in much worse luck all year, twice losing 1-0 games. Just funny how Mike sees himself as a great expert on everything but cannot see through his man love for Pettitte sometimes.

I know I'm a few hours late on this, but that clip of Minko and the "Morning Zoo" from 1988 was priceless. "I'm locked out of the studio, I hope someone will let me in!" Who the hell thought that was a good idea for a sketch? Some 12-year-old?

I'm still laughing. Gotta love the early FAN.

Hasn't Chris been doing mornings too? Why is it that it's always Mike that gets to bail early?

It's not even entertaining. It's just stupid and childish, and it's a team that's 3000 miles away from this station.

when u have the yankees payroll u are expected to make the palyoffs every year its not a huge accomplsihment..
if high payroll determined the playoff teams then how come the Dodgers, Orioles, Mets...etc can't get there every year?

The chances of this occuring are as likely as the Yankees asking Mike F to be the 8th inning set up man for Rivera.

sadly, Francesa is probably better than Farnsworth or Viscaino

If Clemens were to go home in mid-August with the Yankees 15 games out of a wild card would M&MD bash him as being selfish for "only interested in being on a winner"? They always bash Phil Jackson for not coaching a lousy team (forgetting he spent five years in the CBA). They bashed Jeter and A Rod for not answering questions after they lost to the Angels in 2005 and a few months later bashed Tiki Barber for answering questions.
As far as successful managers being fired, Sparky Anderson won back-to-back World Series in 1975-76, won 190 games finishing second in 1977-78 and was fired. Yogi went to game 7 in 1964 and was fired. Rogers Hornsby won it all in 1926 and was traded. Bill McKechnie was fired by the Pirates in 1926 a year after they won the World Series and in 1929 by the Cardinals a year after he took them to the World Series.

Another good local one: D.*** Howser was fired in 1980 after winning 103 games, but losing to the Royals in the ALCS. F the "I am looking to pursue a real estate career" excuse that the Yankees gave for Howser leaving...

Forgot about that one. Or Buck Showalter after 1994 best AL record/1995 wild card. All those fans calling into WFAN afterwards swearing they would never go to another Yankee fan. Or Mike pushing aside anyone criticizing Showalter by saying "Piniella made more mistakes than Buck".

That Bill McKechnie must have been a real A-hole.
