I'm sorry but I have to agree with Randolph here. Knowing it was Davidson, arguing to the point of ejection would have been pointless.

There was no way that Davidson was reversing his call. The guy is an egomaniac who would never suffer the indignity of admitting that he screwed up a call unless he saw the replay.

Mike get a f'n clue man. He went out and was pretty heated about it. It is some of the papers. You are just trying to develop some juice for Wednesday with Willie.

Nope, Dawg. I'd rather have Manuel in a game than Randolph.

Mike just answered his own question.

The umpire manager blowups are interesting and sometimes comedy gold (for example the minor league manager throwing imaginary grenades at the umpire) but for the most part they are just embarassing to everyone involved and nothing gets changed. In effect a waste of time.

Agreed...more impt for Willie to stay in the game...also, Willi was fired up when he was on the field..if he showed that same emotion the other times he argues a call, fans would be more comfortable...you don't need to pull a Billy Martin or Pinella...

Agreed. I actually think Willie set the right tone by stating his case and then moving on. He kept his composure and focus and I think the players followed suit, starting with Delgado getting back in the box and ripping an RBI single.

No need to blow a gasket, get kicked out and send a message to your team that the blown call is the end of the world.

I saw Ben Wallace get the ball about eight feet from the hoop, his defender was six feet away from him and he didn't even look to shoot, do you think he even joins in the shooting drills at practice? Has there ever been a more inept scorer in the NBA who makes near the max contract scenario?

Ever listen to the Mets postgame show? With his slow pacing, it is agony. Steve Sommers makes fun of it because it cuts into his time slot after the game.

HOWEVER, the Mets radio team is pure gold compared to Sterling and Suzyn. If I were a Yankees fan, listening to a game would be absolute torture. He's not funny, IMO, and she's like nails on a chalkboard.
Goodness gracious! The only thing I really like Russo ever having done was taking ehr to task for that ridiculousness. Waldman is insufferable.

Wallace was once quoted in SI saying that "anyone" can score 30 points.
