Dave Brown did that, who was suspended about 21 games I believe.

OTL is such a joke. They decry the violence and all other bad behavior in sports but ESPN is more than happy to oblige leading with highlights and corny commentary on such violence and bad behavior.

My bad. The memory is the first thing to go. At least I got the Dave part right. Wow, also forgot he was suspended for that long. Those Rangers-Flyers playoff series in the 80's were great. Tons of fights. And, of course the great first-round upset in '86 when we got to the conference finals.

One of my favorite Ranger teams of all time. Mike Ridley, Kelly Miller, Pierre Larouche wearing #24, Greschner was the captain. Bob Brooke was my favorite on that team and I believe Vanbiesbrouck won the Vezina. Then Esposito came in the next year and made 9 million trades and that was that. Ridley and Miller for Bobby Carpenter? Really Phil? And I remember him saying one of the reasons he did it was because Carpenter was good on faceoffs. Then he turns around and deals Carpenter for Marcel Dionne. Espo was a mess.

I think you mean you could NOT care less, right? If you could care less, that would mean there is something you care less about than the NBA.

Great player though and not a good, but a great announcer.

Espo as Rangers GM was an uttah disastah. Loved when he fired Bergeron with 2 games left in the season and went behind the bench to lead the team to first-round sweep at the hands of the Pens. Those were the days when I never thought I'd see the Rangers win the cup.

Well if you and your wife are ever in the area and want to go to a game let me know, I have 2 seats upstairs. Last year I hardly went, my wife was pregnant and we moved into a new house, but I found a good contact on craigslist and he bought up a lot of games. This will be the 2nd game already I couldn't make that the tix are going unused, last year I had 1 game, opening night when I had a cold that was a disaster.

He even traded for Bergeron (#1 pick who I'm sure Quebec turned into some all-star). He traded for everything. He was bad, in one year he really set the team back. Neil Smith had to come in and build it back up before he tore it down years later.

I was supposed to have a little work up there right around now (well, mid-October) but it just didn't work with all the traveling I did this summah. Maybe next season. I'm sort of stuck here for the rest of the winter now.

But I REALLY APPRECIATE the offer.

The pick they traded for Bergeron ended up being the #5 pick in the 1988 Entry Draft. Quebec took Daniel Dore, who only ended up playing 17 games in the NHL. But, had the Rangers kept the pick, Martin Gelinas, Rod Brind'Amour, Teemu Selanne and Jeremy Roenick all would have been there at #5. Of course, Espo wouldn't have been smart enough to take any of those guys, anyway.

It's just great the Mike's mush on Greg 'Sam Bowie' Oden threatens to destroy my fantasy league team on the first night. I dropped the guy 12 spots in my pre-draft order and he still gets picked and is the only center on my team.

And oh, he looked terrible even before he left the game.

That's true. With the money these guys make today, you forget that back in the day (especially before free agency) they didn't make much more than the people in the stands who were watching them. Sometimes they made less, especially if the owner was a cheapskate. That was pretty common 40-50 years ago. I was reading a book about the great Colts teams of the late 1950's and they all had off-season jobs. The 1973 Dolphins' America's Game episode talks about how **** Anderson would close business deals in the locker room after practice. I think he sold insurance or real estate. It was a different world back then.

The Mike Mush is a VERY powerful force. I penetrates all sports, fantasy leagues, drafts, elections, gambling, tv shows, movies, etc.

This is why Duncan is such an amazing player, he's actually conquered it a few times, although it's bit him a few times too.

I almost picked him up on waivers in my other league where no one drafted him either, but he's just not a great player anymore, plain and simple.
