I can't wait to hear how Carl Banks puts a positive spin on this and defends Plax on Monday.

JB: "Dats a disastah for Plax shooting himself, what a joke"

CB: "Wait a second...how do we know he shot himself? Maybe someone else shot him? Maybe he was leaving the night club to go help out a homeless person and some girl scouts and someone shot him with his own gun to stop him?"

JB: "I haven't heard anything about that..."

CB: "You see, maybe that's the part of the story the media hasn't reported. Have you heard anyone say he WASN'T going to help and homeless person and some girl scouts? I haven't read that anywhere. You have to wait for the WHOLE story to come out before we all jump to all these conclusions."

EDIT...

Mike: "This has Shockey's fingerprints all over it. You know he convinced Plax to shoot himself. That's what Shockey does."

Just hearing the story again at halftime of the Bamer game made me think...

The number of stupid things you need to do in order for this to happen to you.

#1. You have to own a gun
#2. You have to be carrying it with you, out at a club
#3. It has to be loaded
#4. You must have it out
#5. You are f'n around with it, even though it's loaded
#6. All of this in a public place
#7. You point it at your leg, with which you make your living, not a regular living, but millions upon millions of dollars, for running and catching.
#8. With all this money, you can hire people to protect you, so you should never need to carry a gun.

LOL.

CB: "Clearly, Plax was acting out of self defense. Here's a guy who was targeted because he was black and famous. It's pretty easy to see that guys."

ER: "I don't think that's what happened, Carl."

JB: "Ahhe you kiddin me, Cahl?? I mean - if this guy was playin fah the Jets, he would been droppin passes all ovah thah place. Spahe me, Cahl."

Which according to NY law is 3.5 years Mandatory....story on profootballtalk.com and post is now reporting that charges may come. The only mistake the Giants have made in the last year and half is signing him at beginning of year.

Earlier this year, David Wright and Carlos Delgado received gun permits. I hope they don't make the same mistake as Plaxico.

If they get caught in a shootout in a club, Delgado will purposly misfire in the beginning and then decide to start trying and kill most of the bad guys. Then, right at the end when they are about t make it out alive, Wright will accidentally shoot and kill Delgado and himself.

This is making me more mad the longer i think about it. From spring to fall, I use a shotgun 4 days a week to shoot trap (clay targets). I find it a blast, made hundereds of friends, and has become a family occasion as I shoot with my Grandfather and little brother. It has also generated some prize dollars for me at the bigger championship shoots. I started when I was 14, and im 21 now. In that time, i have put over 50,000 rounds through my guns. The number of rounds ive been witnessed or been present for probably reaches a million. Ive been at shoots of all sizes, from practice day at my club where we might have 15-20 shooters to the NYS Championship where there are around 800 shooters competing on the same day. In all this time, i have seen 0, nadda, not one gun related injury or incident. The first thing we do with new shooters is go over all of the saftey proceedures. If we see them doing something wrong, we nip it in the bud and show them how to do it right. There are people who take a very negative view about what we do, just because it involves guns. Antics and incidents like this do not help our cause at all. I just dont see how I can be around thousands of shooters and not see or hear of any incidents, yet it seems every weekend a high profile athlete (a much smaller % of the population) is involved in some kind of gun related story.

Sorry for the soapbox senario

It's simple: You know what you are doing and Plax doesn't.
