I listened to some Welker audio on Youtube. Frankly, unless Ted Johnson sounds exactly like Wes Welker, it really was Welker. Trust me, I don't put anything past WFAN, but in this case it's hard to say that it's definitely not Welker, and I don't think that they put enough time into these things to have expended the time to find audio of different people who were in Super Bowls who happen to sound alike.

So I am thinking it's someone relatively current and someone who may be black but doesn't really sound it... I have an idea, but I'll keep it to myself. BTW those two td's were both fumble recoveries, you think he was talking about a defensive line opening holes?
I went and watched the Mike Bass play on Youtube, and I think we can rule him out. His return was up a sideline, and there appeared to be only two guys in front of him blocking, from the clip that I saw (which would make sense; in the case of a fumble by a kicker, whoever recovers it will be ahead of the pack).

The person in the clip says "grabbed the ball," which I don't think you'd say if you got a handoff or caught a pass. So I guess it could be a fumble recovery, an INT return, or even a kick or punt return.

Listen to any interview of Wes Welker, I defy anyone to tell me it matches with that audio, think about it, very easy to lie about the audio, no way to prove WFAN is scamming the audience.

WFAN should be boycotted, they scam you every single day with snake oil ads, horrible hosts, and now a fraud of a Super Bowl contest.
Recommend you boycott the contest in protest.

Guys might say it in both cases, actually.

It would seem more likely that someone would use it in saying they grabbed it off the ground, but it's not unusual the other ways.

Actually, now that I think about it, "taking off and seeing what you can do" seems like he's referring to a defensive play.

So we know it's someone who scored a TD, but they lost the game.

Exactly.

And by the way, that audio is definitely not Ted Johnson.

AUDIO CUTS

AUDIO #1 (Audio Four Number 1)

"It's just basically a matter of just grabbing the ball and just taking off and seeing what you can do and really that was one of those situations where everyone you know stayed on their blocks, made their timing, everything was great. And uh, I just basically hit the hole, uh saw the crease and took off, and uh fortunately I was able to get in the endzone, and uh but you know unfortunately we did not win that game so that's, that's kind of the thing that still sticks with us."

Kurt Warner although another source is claiming it is Tim Dwight.

AUDIO #2 (Audio Four Number 2)

"Gonna be a hectic day, um I'm sorry a hectic two weeks, and uh just you know just pay attention to whatcha gotta do in terms of travel arrangements, family, and friends. At the same time just do what you been doing all year long with football."

I just watched the Kurt Warner td in SB 36 and he didn't hit any hole, he basically rode up on his centers butt and into the end zone, also Warner has been interviewed enough times and has a pretty distinguishable voice and I didn't think it sounded like someone really familiar. Dwight is an interesting call although I cannot for the life of me find any video of that play since the game highlights only seem to be of the Broncos.

You could be right, the only one I can confirm with certainty is the Zak DeOssie audio.
